No. It is not necessary for your property to invest in highly advanced computer hardware - your computers only need to be capable of connecting to the Internet at a speed you deem reasonable. The major advantages are the elimination of the fileserver and its associated operating system costs and the ability to use less costly PC's that have basic configuration.

We do a full backup of the databases every midnight. It's an automatically scheduled backup so no user intervention is required and it can't be accidentally forgotten. This backup happens on a live system so our clients can continue using the system while it happens.

Yes! Your information is stored at the same type of data center used by banks and other institutions to store their information. Our data centers use state of the art technology and security that includes: Data mirroring that makes a copy of your data from one hard drive onto another (If one hard drive fails, the other one kicks in and there is no interruption in service); A series of backups to a medium not attached to the computer itself that are sent off site for storage (these backups are done on live data as well so there is no disruption to users); Redundant power supply; Filtered power; Backup air conditioning; Several kinds of connections to the internet; Spare pre-configured servers; and 24 hour staff. In addition, the data is housed in 'clean' buildings that are structurally configured to withstand severe weather conditions and/or security breaches.

Our RoomKey Property Management Software solution will run on a Mac if your system has the capacity to emulate MS Windows. If you are running OS 10.0, Tiger or Leopard you should be able to run our application through Windows emulation.
